Hockey Fever

In case you haven't heard, the Canadiens have made it to the Stanley Cup play-offs this year. In fact, they were first place in the EasterN Conference this year. First time in a while that they finished in first. (I'm no sports fanatic so I won't bore you with all stats. Besides which, what am I talking about and where is the real Stef?)

Here in Montreal, locals are in the midst not of spring fever, but of Habs Hockey Fever. Many, many cars are driving around with those little flags sticking out the back car window. I didn't know how badly until yesterday when I even saw a cop car with a Habs flag in the back window!

Hey Stef, I know that hockey may not be your game but had to let you know. It's Eastern, not Easter, Conference. It's not a religious game even if some people do worship it.

Ah yes ... correction has been noted. My thanks.

I'm actually looking forward to the same kind of thing when the Euro Cup (football/soccer) starts on June 7th. Switzerland (and Austria) are hosting it for the first time, so the country is really getting into Euro Cup Fever. I'm hosting a football party on the 7th to celebrate Dylan's birthday (the 6th) and the opening game, which Switzerland is playing in. I have some Swiss flag tea lights, napkins, a flag and even some little football chocolates! Everyone coming has to wear something Swissy.

Oh, sounds like fun! I could wear my Swiss comfy socks or my Swiss flip-flops.
